Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. 24 November 2022.
PICTURED: Members of the Scottish Parliament gather round the model.
Guardians of Scotland Trust, of which I am a Trustee. The Trust is a charity which was formed to create a new memorial to William Wallace and Andrew Moray at Stirling Bridge. While Wallace is commemorated in statue at various locations in Scotland, his co-leader in that battle, Andrew Moray, is now largely forgotten, and the Trust wanted to make sure that he was appropriately recognised.
The sculptor Malcolm Robertson has created a design for the monument entitled “Brothers in Arms” and has prepared a maquette for public display. Actors dressed as Wallace and Moray were in attendance.
