What can the Man O’ Independent Mind do for Inverclyde and Greenock having just come through the worst of times when youth have been stuck in their rooms with their smart phones, wage earners furloughed, and the elderly confined to their rooms for fear of being infected.
In these challenging times we stand the risk of seeing the illness and not seeing the person. We have to see beyond the contagion and see the person. With addiction, to interact with the inner person and treat the cause, not the symptoms.

The youth still have ‘everything before them’ and from my experience as a teacher, am pleasantly surprised how well some of the pupils have turned out through discovering their gifts.

For those of us who have lived a life, we owe it to those just starting out, to invest in them and give them a chance by creating opportunities.

Gourock Harbour was strategic in WWII’s war effort with the convoys mustering at the Tail O’the Bank. My vision and conviction are that it could be strategic today with a Continental Cruise Car Ferry Service to Dun Laoghaire, to Santander in Spain. This will bring economic recovery through Tourism, Trade and Transport,
The road infrastructure needs fixed too, and I feel a relief road from Earnhill Rd to Castle Levan will alleviate the traffic congestion experienced at Battery Park. Road connectivity between housing estates is key for emergency services too.
