Rev Heller Gonzalez conducts annual memorial service of remembrance for all those lost to addiction. The ‘One Day At A Time’ Memorial Cross to Scotland’s drug victims created by artist, John Woodcock is carried in procession to the chancel. The Cross sculpture will now reside in St Augustine’s Episcopal Church after its blessing and dedication at the memorial service.
Scotland’s annual figures showed that there were 1,339 drug deaths last year - an increase of 75 from the 1,264 recorded the previous year which means Scotland continues to have by far the highest drug death rate recorded by any country in Europe.
