PRESS RELEASE:
I did numerous protests calling on Nicola Sturgeon First Minister of Scotland to ban travel between Scotland and England earlier this year to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Scotland.
The Protests were purely for public health reasons as both Professor Roland Kao and Professor Devi Sridhar of Edinburgh University repeatedly called for border controls to curtail travel to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Scotland.
The Protests showed we were right In our actions and only now with the dire threat of this variant of COVID-19 from England has action been taken to stop non essential travel between Scotland and England.
However the initial response of Police Scotland is disappointing in that they say they are not going to alter the way they police the border. If we are to prevent this mutation of COVID-19 from spreading widely north of the border we will need firm policing to maintain border travel restrictions to protect the Scottish People From harm.
